ചിറ്റൂരിലെ മുൻ കോ-ഓപ്പറേറ്റീവ് ഷുഗേഴ്‌സ് ലിമിറ്റഡിന്റെ (ചിക്കോപ്‌സ്) പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി ഐ‌എം‌എഫ്‌എൽ, മറ്റ് മദ്യം, അനുബന്ധ ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയുടെ ഉത്പാദനം ഏറ്റെടുക്കുക എന്ന പ്രധാന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ, 1956 ലെ കമ്പനി ആക്ടിന്റെ സെക്ഷൻ 217 പ്രകാരം നിർവചിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ള ഒരു സർക്കാർ കമ്പനിയാണ് മലബാർ ഡിസ്റ്റിലറീസ് ലിമിറ്റഡ്. തമിഴ്നാട് അതിർത്തിക്കടുത്തുള്ള പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയുടെ കിഴക്കൻ ഭാഗമായ മേനോൻപാറയിലാണ് കമ്പനി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. 113 ഏക്കർ വിസ്തൃതിയിലാണ് കമ്പനി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
13-06-2022 ലെ GO(MS) No 38/2022/Taxes പ്രകാരം കമ്പനിയിൽ ഒരു 5-ലൈൻ IMFL ബ്ലെൻഡിംഗ് ആൻഡ് ബോട്ട്ലിംഗ് പ്ലാന്റ് സർക്കാർ അനുവദിച്ചു. M/S കേരള ഇലക്ട്രിക്കൽ & അലൈഡ് എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് കമ്പനി (KEL) സമർപ്പിച്ച വിശദമായ പ്രോജക്ട് റിപ്പോർട്ട് (DPR) പ്രകാരം, 10-7-2024 ലെ GO(MS) No 41/2024/Taxes പ്രകാരം സർക്കാർ പദ്ധതിക്ക് ഭരണാനുമതി നൽകുകയും കമ്പനി ഒരു വർഷത്തിനുള്ളിൽ ഉത്പാദനം ആരംഭിക്കുമെന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
IMFL ഉൽപ്പാദനത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന പ്രവർത്തനം ഇതുവരെ ആരംഭിച്ചിട്ടില്ലെങ്കിലും, വ്യാവസായിക ആവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കായി മീഥൈലേറ്റഡ്, ഡീനേച്ചർഡ് സ്പിരിറ്റ് നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നതിന് എക്സൈസ് അധികാരികളിൽ നിന്ന് RS1,D1,D2,D3 ലൈസൻസ് കമ്പനിക്ക് ഉണ്ട്. അതനുസരിച്ച് കമ്പനി എക്സൈസ് വകുപ്പിൽ നിന്ന് പിടിച്ചെടുത്ത സ്പിരിറ്റ് വാങ്ങുകയും കേരളത്തിലെ ലൈസൻസ് ഉടമകൾക്ക് റെക്റ്റിഫൈഡ്, മീഥൈലേറ്റഡ്, ഡീനേച്ചർഡ് സ്പിരിറ്റ് എന്നിവ വിൽക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. എം/എസ് കേരള സ്റ്റേറ്റ് ബിവറേജസ് (എം & എം) കോർപ്പറേഷൻ കമ്പനിയുടെ പരിസരത്ത് ഒരു വെയർഹൗസ് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.
To take up the production of Liquor or in any of the business of distilleries, blenders, bottlers, compounders, rectifiers and dealers in all kinds of spirits and Alcohol, liquors like Rum,Gin,Whisky,Brandy,Vodka,Beer and wine or Sugar manufactures, importers,exporters,traders,distributers or otherwise sugar and its bye products such as molasses, Alcohol and other chemicals extracted from Sugar. The Company has formed as a part of revival activities of erstwhile The Co-operative Sugars Ltd,Chittur (CHICOPS) which had become defunct on account of stoppage of production sugar and related products due to non-availability of sugar cane and to make it a sustaining financially viable Company by giving employment and also to development the people of Eastern region of Palakkad District.
- To undertake production of good quality IMFL with minimum hazard at low cost and to sell at reasonable competitive prices to make available quality liquor at lowest price in Government sector for catering low priced liquordemands from northern part of Kerala as the Travancore Sugars & Chemicals Ltd, the other Government entity in the same filed could not cater the liquor demanded for that area.
- To promote, establish and operate branches, storage facilities, depots, godown, warehouses for the business of molasses, rectified spirit, denatured spirit, raw or dried tapioca, starch, glucose, toddy, wine, Indian made foreign Liquor and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- To undertake production of other spirits products like methylated spirits ,denatured spirits etc. for industrial and other non-consumption use like hospitals and Research Institutions.
- To utilize the confiscated spirit under the custody of Excise department by selling the same as Methylated, Denatured sprits to licensed holders in the state.
- To undertake or facilitate production of low alcoholic products which would provide value addition to the farmers and support their activities.
- To carry on all or any of the business of cultivators, planters, growers, processors, buyers, millers and dealers of all types of sugar cane, sugar beat and other agricultural products of the soil as may be required for the purpose.
- To establish,provide, maintain and conduct or otherwise subsidies research laboratories and experimental workshops for scientific and technical research; to promote studies and researches both scientific and technical by providing workshops, libraries, lectures, meeting to the people to encourage and promote researches and investigations, experiments, tests and inventories of any kind that may be considered likely to assist any business which the Company is authorized to carry on.
- To provide direct and indirect employment as part of taking up of the production activities above following all employees codes and labour practices.
- Ensure corruption free functioning of the Company by implementing proper internal control and other systems in place with clear, transparent & ethically driven actions.
- To inculcate amongst cultivators of Sugarcane ,tapioca, coconut trees, palm trees and other crops, improved modern methods of agriculture and cultivation of crops and to supply seed materials, fertilizers, pesticides, implements for growing sugar cane, tapioca and other crops and to promote agricultural and industrial education and wellbeing amongst cultivators and to run model farms for the purpose.
- Ensure better services to all concerned with the functioning and activities of the Company.
- To implement proper accounting and management as well as reporting system to properly record all transactions, and to maintain true and fair accounts of all activities.
- To produce, convert, export, import, purchase sell in all materials and things including raw materialany products,wastes,finished products and products at all stages with the industries set up by the Company.
- To setup a winery unit from the agricultural produces like banana, grapes and other locally available fruits to help farmers to sell their produce at a reasonable rate.
- To utilize land and other resources of CHICOPS for production and other activities that would enhance the income and value to the farmers and Government.
